Asharami Synergy Commissions Eco-Friendly Water Project in Omagwa

Asharami Synergy has taken a major step towards improving access to clean and safe water in Omagwa, Rivers State. In collaboration with the Sahara Group Foundation, the company has launched a cutting-edge solar-powered borehole system. The newly commissioned borehole features a 1.5-horsepower DC water pump powered by 1,200 watts of solar panels. This innovative solution will address the pressing need of the community, providing a reliable source of clean water.

This project underscores Asharami Synergy’s dedication to meaningful community growth, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which aims to ensure universal access to clean water and sanitation. The solar-powered borehole is designed to provide continuous access to clean water, enhance public health, hygiene, and overall quality of life.

Nomnso Dike, CEO of Asharami Synergy, stated that the initiative will strengthen the company’s pledge to develop innovative, eco-friendly solutions while nurturing enduring partnerships locally and globally.

According to Dike, “This initiative transcends a simple water project, as it demonstrates our resolve to drive meaningful change in the communities we operate in, while promoting sustainable energy practices. It will also honour the strong partnership between Omagwa, our adopted home, and Asharami Synergy.

Henry Nnadi, Depot Manager of Asharami Synergy in Omagwa, noted that the borehole project’s commissioning is a follow-up to the launch of the Asharami Retail Station in the community. He emphasized that access to clean drinking water is essential and expressed Asharami Synergy’s pleasure in serving the community through this sustainable initiative, which was developed in close collaboration with local residents.

The ceremony was attended by Omagwa residents and community leaders, including Comrade Benneth Maduike, President of the Omagwa Airport Landlord Association. Maduike conveyed his appreciation for the project and emphasized its potential to bring about significant positive change in the community.

The project is a joint effort with the Sahara Group Foundation, aligns perfectly with Asharami Synergy’s guiding principle of “Making a Difference Responsibly.” As a leading player in the downstream energy sector, Asharami Synergy reaffirms its commitment to driving sustainable growth and creating a lasting legacy of positive impact.
