Julian Bassey: Crimson Power’s Solar Project to Boost Sustainability at Iroto Centre

Crimson Power Ltd has secured a contract to install a 200kWp solar system at Ogun State’s Iroto Conference Centre. The project, which is slated to start mid-December 2024, aims to boost the facility’s energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.

The solar installation will comprise 360 ground-mounted panels and be powered by three hybrid inverters with a 150kW capacity. Three high-voltage lithium-ion batteries will provide energy storage, ensuring a reliable three-phase power supply. The project is scheduled for completion within 12 weeks, providing the Iroto Conference Centre with a cutting-edge off-grid energy solution.

ECS is reinforcing its dedication to sustainability by embracing eco-friendly practices. By transitioning to renewable energy, the organization seeks to minimize its environmental impact, achieve energy self-sufficiency, and optimize operations. The new system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 50 tonnes per year, supporting global initiatives to mitigate climate change.

Julian Bassey, Managing Director of Crimson Power Ltd, stated, “This project marks a major milestone in ECS’s shift towards sustainability. It showcases our expertise in providing cutting-edge, eco-friendly energy solutions. The installation will not only boost energy reliability but also serve as a model for other Nigerian institutions to adopt sustainable practices.”
Julian Bassey also expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “This project solidifies Crimson Power’s position as a trusted, world-class solar solutions provider. It demonstrates our dedication to quality and expands our presence in Nigeria’s solar market. We’re poised to seize similar opportunities and deliver even more ambitious projects.”

Bassey stressed that teamwork is crucial to delivering the project on time and within budget. He expressed confidence in the project’s success under the guidance of his business partner and COO, Engr. George Anijah-Obi, who will lead the team to achieve precision and excellence.
Established by Julian Bassey in 2011 as Crimson Electric and rebranded as Crimson Power in 2020, the company excels in designing, installing, and maintaining top-tier solar power systems. Additionally, it offers electrical control panel design, fabrication, and energy audit services. This recent contract solidifies Crimson Power’s position as a leader in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, aligning with its vision of a greener, energy-independent Africa.
As Nigeria tackles its energy challenges, the Iroto Conference Centre project showcases renewable energy’s potential to provide affordable, sustainable, and reliable solutions for both institutions and businesses.
