UNILAG Unveils Buses Running on Solar Energy and Electricity

The University of Lagos has launched buses powered by solar energy and electricity, which is geared towards zero emissions. The university also unveiled its updated logo. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, introduced the buses and logo at a media event in Lagos on Monday. She explained that the buses were donated by two alumni who own companies called Ogata Global Resources and Chart Eco Global Services.

Ogunsola stated that the buses will be used for public transportation and are designed for sustainable planning, using solar energy and electricity. She emphasized the university’s commitment to maintaining good air quality. The updated logo was introduced to better represent the university’s brand. Ogunsola thanked the media for their support and constructive criticism.
Consultant-in-Chief Itunu Okusami explained that his company partnered with the university to promote innovation and reduce emissions. He also highlighted the company’s goal of enhancing the university’s work-study initiatives.
Chairman Henry Eke expressed his organization’s happiness in introducing the buses to his alma mater.
